1 good article is better than 10 mediocre ones

Ever since article marketing became a trend, it’s common to see one person posting in article directories, up to ten or more articles into these websites. It’s great to have a lot of content because it means more links to the website…and some to different pages of the website as well. But if you asked me, here’s what I think of article marketing.
Frankly speaking, I have a feeling (just a feeling, ok?) that it’s not exactly the most effective method to article marketing. The way I look at article marketing is like this – quality content equals better branding. When you put a little bit more effort to write the articles, you create, not only brand awareness for yourself and your products/services, but you’re also branding yourself as an expert.
If you’re new to this, I don’t blame you for not knowing. Leaving a trail of evidence of your expertise will benefit you in the long run. And shady articles don’t help you do that.
Oh, I use some of the stuff posted in article directories as well….but I only use those that helps me and my website visitors! Ultimately, it reflects badly on me as well if I were to post a low-quality article on my website. How would my potential customers view me when they put me in the same category as some other shady article artists?
Creating trust and belief is an integral part of article marketing. Some article writers, if they’re really fast, can churn out an article in a matter of minutes. In fact, I’ve showcased this myself and when I did that, I qualified myself by saying that ‘I said quantity, not quality’. Which means to say that if you spend less than 10 minutes on an article a day, you’re probably not maximizing the full potential of the articles that you’re writing.
Let me give you the perfect example. The main reason why you’re writing articles and posting it in article directories is to get other website owners or blog owners to post your articles into their websites and provide a bio and link back to your website. How many, do you think, website owners with high page rank or quality articles in their website would use your article if it was of low quality.
The only people who would pick up your article are shell website owners. Owners of websites or blogs built mainly for search engine marketing or placement of ads or placement of links! That’s it! How’s that for retaining customers or helping you in your branding?
The webmasters, I am sure, know a good one from a low quality one, therefore, the likelihood of them using an article of about 400 words, capped tight with keywords but with no valuable information whatsoever, is very minimal.
With article marketing, aren’t the big guns the ones we’re aiming at?
Therefore, in conclusion, website owners or blog owners are better off spending their valuable time writing fabulous reference-worthy articles than 10 that is devoid of value.
